Camille Pissarro

Camille Pissarro was born in 1830 in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. In the 1880s, after settling in Normandy, he experimented with Pointillism, the Neoimpressionist style of painting with dots of color, but later returned to the Impressionist school. As a techer, he influenced many of his contemporaries, notably Paul Gauguin, and, of course, Cezanne. Pissaro died in France in 1903.
