Bruce Lee Bond hitchhiked around the west during what was called the Summer of Love at the age of seventeen, and was in many a refuge and commune of what was called the Counter- culture through his twenties. He studied creative writing at San Francisco State College, Journalism at the University of Oregon, furthered his education at the University of Alaska and has published numerous short stories and this his fifth published novel. He has traveled the continent extensively and studied with a Lakota medicine man on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota at the age of twenty-two. He built cabins in the wilderness of Alaska and the pacific northwest, lived on homesteads and built a log home in the Alaskan wilderness where his children came into the world. He has lived amongst characters like those portrayed in this novel, most of whom are based on actual people. Unlike many of them he is alive at this printing. See less
