Bill Winter was born in the old British colony of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in 1942. He was educated at Churchill High School and at the University of South Africa in Pretoria. Bill worked in mining for the Anglo-American Corporation after leaving university, and then changed the course of his career by qualifying for the church ministry in 1965. Bill was subsequently headhunted by the Christian Para Church Organisation, African Enterprise, whose mission was to promote the Church in the cities of Africa. He headed missions in many cities on the African continent. Later, Bill joined the struggle against Apartheid in a non-violent way. These experiences inspired the writing of his first novel The Young Lions. He is planning a sequel, 'Young Lions Roar', and a third novel, 'Young Lions Fight'. In 1992, Bill came to work in the UK with his family, and still lives in the UK today. See less
