Beverly A. Lujan, a certified speech-language pathologist, has specialized in accent reduction for more than 20 years. Her desire to specialize in this field was sparked by her studies in phonetics, linguistics, voice, and articulation. The American Accent Guide is a direct result of Ms. Lujan's experience coaching thousands of non-native speakers from around the world. . Her clients include a wide range of professionals from such fields as business, technology, medicine, law, and public relations. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Utah and has completed additional American English phonology and linguistics studies at San Diego State University. Ms. Lujan founded the Lingual Arts School in Salt Lake City to conduct courses and seminars on accent reduction for corporate, government, and educational clients. She has supervised university graduate students in their practicum training to teach speech skills to ESL learners. See less
