She has co-authored Introduction to "Human Services: Policy and Practice," 7th ed., She has also published "Welfare in America: Controlling the "Dangerous Classes,"" and "Where Are the Children? A Class Analysis of Foster Care and Adoption." She is co-editor of "New Politics." She has been a social worker in child welfare, mental health, and welfare agencies. She has been a welfare rights activist since the 1960s.
