Barry Michael Lewis is one of two co-recipients of the 2018 Maternal Mental Health Innovation Award for Policy and Advocacy for his work with Dr. Susan Feingold and others ushering Illinois' first in the nation postpartum illness bill into law. Barry's published works include the recent cover page article on postpartum illnesses and the law in the monthly magazine of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, A New Law Offers Hope. As a practicing lawyer, Barry submits briefs and motions to courts for a living. Barry won an award in 2013 for his volunteering legal services and is a past chairman of the Chicago Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Committee. See less
