Barbara Jean Hicks

Barbara Jean Hicks, a.k.a. "Barbara Jean the Story Queen," is no stranger to vegetable tales. In addition to Once Upon a Parsnip, she penned the gleeful Monsters Don't Eat Broccoli (Knopf). She is the author of six additional picture books, including the Frozen companion book A Sister More Like Me(Disney Press). She lives in Northwest Washington state and travels extensively to present Young Author and Family Literacy programs in schools.
