Barbara A Sizemore
Barbara A. Sizemore was a teacher and an administrator with Chicago Public Schools from 1947-1972. The following year in Washington, DC, she became the first African-American woman to be appointed superintendent of a major city school system. She served as professor and interim chair of the Department of the Black Community, Research and Education at the University of Pittsburgh from 1977-1992, and dean of the School of Education at DePaul University in Chicago from 1992-1998.
