Babru Bahan Samal was born in India in a rural village. Since his childhood, he has been curious about the world around him, about the society he lived in and the universe at large. His search of a better education moved him from a village to a city in India and finally to Los Angeles in the USA. Babru's views of life and living were shaped by his childhood exposure to Eastern philosophies and ways of life which were supplemented by his education and influence of the Western ways during his studies and living in the USA. His higher degree and research in life science complemented and modified his overall perspective on life which has been expressed in the form of poetry. In addition to poetry, Babru has also authored many scientific publications. Science did not make him arrogant but humble as he became aware of the fact that how little he knows about the creation and the Creator after decades of research, reading and introspection. Babru's search for the self-discovery continues via research, reading, writing, photography and travel. In addition to India, he has lived in Southern California and is presently in Rockville, Maryland, USA. See less
