Ardis Hanson, M.L.S. is Director of the Research Library at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute at the University of South Florida. Ardis Hanson, M.L.S. is Director of the Research Library at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute at the University of South Florida. She received her bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Tampa and her Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of South Florida. Interested in the use of technology to enhance research, she developed the web site for the Library and the Institute in 1993 and, as Institute Webmaster, has since created a number of specialized research resources for Institute and Internet users. She has presented at the USF Symposium on 21st Century Teaching Technologies for the past three years, showcasing innovative software applications. Ms. Hanson was a member of the original Virtual Library Planning Committee for the University of South Florida Virtual Library Project (1996), and is currently a member of the Virtual Library Implementation Team, an oversight committee for the USF Virtual Library. Ms. Hanson is currently writing (with Bruce Lubotsky Levin) a text entitled, Mental Health Informatics (Oxford University Press). She is the Senior Editor of the text, Building a Virtual Library (Information Science Publishing, 2003) and has published (with Bruce Lubotsky Levin) numerous chapters on mental health services, most recently in the following texts: Mental Health Services: A Public Health Perspective, Second Edition (Oxford University Press, 2004); Introduction to Health Care Delivery (Jones & Bartlett, 2004); and Handbook of Mental Health Administration and Management (Brunner-Routledge, 2003). She currently teaches graduate behavioral health courses at the University of South Florida College of Public Health. See less
