Anthony Rota has been an antiquarian bookseller for more than 45 years and has spent the last 30+ years as head of Bertram Rota Ltd., a firm founded in 1923 by his father, Bertram Rota. Anthony Rota has been an antiquarian bookseller for more than 45 years and has spent the last 30+ years as head of Bertram Rota Ltd., a firm founded in 1923 by his father, Bertram Rota. Extending even further back, his great-grandfather and scholar-bookseller, Bertram Dobell, discovered Thomas Traherne, and two of Dobell's sons were also booksellers. Anthony Rota has served as president of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association (ABA) in Great Britain as well as a President of Honour of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB). He has also taught at the Rare Book School at Columbia University and at the ABA Diploma Course at University College in London. Mr. Rota has spoken extensively on both sides of the Atlantic, lectured at the Library of Congress and at the University of Virginia.
