Anora Sutherland McGaha is a writer and a poet living in the Piedmont region of North Carolina with her husband Martin McGaha, and their rescued beagle, Lady B. Anora Sutherland McGaha is a writer and a poet living in the Piedmont region of North Carolina with her husband Martin McGaha, and their rescued beagle, Lady B. Originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was raised in a diplomat's family. Her family moved from country to country from 1960 - 1970 in the Middle East and Southern Europe. Creativity and love of color and beauty are part of her family culture. Her father Peter wrote and took pictures. Her mother Carol sewed, and still knits, embroiders and makes crafts. Her brother Paul is a nature photographer with an underwater specialty. Her sister Susan makes coveted pottery and jewelry. Her younger brother Andrew writes and speaks with breathtaking eloquence. And Anora's son, Jason, is a photographer with a mind for design and writes poetic prose. Anora has had personal essays published in anthologies on cross cultural themes. She is the co-author of a business book, Social Media for Business. She started the online magazine about contemporary women writers, Women Writers, Women's Books, and a women's literary journal, When Women Waken.
