Anirban Das
Anirban Das was born in New Delhi's Chittaranjan Park area to Bengali parents and grew up in neighboring Alaknanda. He obtained his high school degree from Delhi Public School, R K Puram. Notable achievements were his was involvement in quizzing and appointment as an House Captain. Anirban Das was born in New Delhi's Chittaranjan Park area to Bengali parents and grew up in neighboring Alaknanda. He obtained his high school degree from Delhi Public School, R K Puram. Notable achievements were his was involvement in quizzing and appointment as an House Captain. Thereafter he attended Hansraj College under Delhi University from where he obtained a BSc(H) degree in Chemistry. He then obtained an "O" level and "A" level diploma from the DOEACC Delhi securing an all India first rank in C++/VC++ programming. He taught computer programming at an IGNOU center in Delhi. He also obtained an MSc degree in chemistry from Delhi University. He then moved to the US where he obtained an MS degree in chemistry from the University of Toledo in Ohio in 2007 and a PhD degree in chemistry from the University of Idaho in 2012 under Professor Chien Wai. At Idaho he was actively involved in the Graduate and Professional Student Association and served it in various capacities including Vice President, Senate Speaker, Chief Justice and representative to the Faculty Council. He was then a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Center for Catalysis and Surface Science at Northwestern University in Evanston from 2012 to 2014 under Professor Eric Weitz. He is currently a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California Riverside under the mentorship of Distinguished Professor Francisco Zaera. He and his wife Papiya currently live in Riverside, California. In his spare time Anirban likes to travel with his wife, read, write poetry and play Indian classical music on the Hawaiian guitar.
