Ana Merino
Ana Merino was born in Madrid in 1971, daughter of Jose Maria Merino and married to artist Felix de la Concha. Ana Merino is assistant professor at Dartmouth College. She has published a scholarly book on comics titled El Comic Hispanico (Catedra, 2003) a critical monograph on Chris Ware (Sinsentido, 2005) and five books of poetry, and was a recipient of the Adonais and Fray Luis de Leon awards for poetry. Merino is a member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Cartoon Studies and a member of the executive committee of International Comic Art Forum. Merino's articles on comics have appeared in Leer , DDLV , The Comics Journal , International Journal of Comic Art , and Hispanic Issues . She has served as curator for three comics exhibitions and is the author of the bilingual catalogue Fantagraphics creadores del canon (2003). See less
