Amiya Kumar Bagchi
Amiya Kumar Bagchi is currently Emeritus Professor of Economics, Institute of Development Studies Kolkata (IDSK). Prof. Bagchi was also the first Chancellor of Tripura Central University. He was the founder-Director of IDSK and had earlier served as a Professor and Director of Centre for Studies in Social Sciences Calcutta. He has been an economist and economic historian during a long academic career and has received honorary doctorates from four universities, both in India and abroad.
