Amanda Hartman is the Deputy Director for Primary Literacy of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, where she plays a lead role both in supporting staff developers and in developing the Project's methods for K - 2 reading and writing instruction. Amanda Hartman is the Deputy Director for Primary Literacy of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, where she plays a lead role both in supporting staff developers and in developing the Project's methods for K - 2 reading and writing instruction. Amanda leads the TCRWP's Coaching and Whole School Reform Institutes, and has presented at conferences throughout the country and the world, including NCTE, IRA, AERA, and NESA. She is coauthor of One to One: The Art of Conferring with Young Writers (Heinemann 2005), of the DVD Up Close: Teaching English Language Learners in Reading and Writing Workshops (Heinemann 2005), and of two books in the Units of Study in Opinion, Information, and Narrative Writing series.
