Alex Adams, RRT, CRTT, CPFT, RCP, FAARC received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Public Health - Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. At the present time, he is a Research Associate for the Pulmonary/Critical Care Research Laboratory at Regions Hospital/Healthpartners Research Foundation. Previously, Adams has held positions as a Clinical Coordinator of Respiratory Care Program at St. Paul Technical College, Supervisor of Respiratory Care and Monitoring Service at St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center, and Director of CardioPulmonary Services and Technical Director -'Prolonged Respiratory Care Unit at HealthEast.Currently, Adams is a member of the Respiratory Care Advisory Council for the Board of Medical Examiners and has held this post for 12 consecutive years. He is also a member of the Minnesota Society for Respiratory Care and has held various positions including President, Vice President, Delegate, State Health Service Occupational Advisory Council, and Judicial Committee. Over a time span of 30 years, Adams has held numerous long term appointments with the American Association for Respiratory Care - House of Delegates, Public Health Policy Committee, Publications Committee, House Publications, Special Membership, and Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee, and was an AARC Board member, as well as Chairman of AARC's Acute Care Section. Adams has been on the Editorial Board for Respiratory Care Journal and a reviewer for the following journals: Respiratory Care, Critical Care Medicine, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, and Chest. To date he has authored/edited over 60 publications, numerous invited articles in respiratory care journals, and contributed several chapters in a variety of respiratory care publications. See less
