Cornishman Alan Mills has lived in the Helford area of South Cornwall for the past thirty-five years. Reading was never an exciting prospect and writing a story likewise. However, faced with a few months of confinement following ankle surgery, he decided to 'have a go'. Such was the encouragement he received from friends and family, the thought of having his work published became a real possibility. "What if . . . ?", his debut book of short stories, was therefore born.
