Alan M. Wachman is associate professor of international politics at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He served as president of China Institute in America (1995-1997) and was the American Co-director of The Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies (1993-1995).
