Abdulla Watad specialized in internal medicine (Tel-Aviv, Israel) and research in rheumatology and immunology at the Autoimmune Diseases Sheba Medical Center, affiliated with the Sackler Faculty of Medicine in Tel-Aviv University. He is also visiting researcher at the University of Leeds, UK. His works focused on the role of entheseal immune resident cells in the pathogenesis of spondyloarthritis, prevention of psoriatic arthritis, link between cancer and autoimmunity, and the impact of fasting on the immune system. He has published more than 150 papers in high impacted journals and written more than 10 chapters in books in the field of autoimmunity. He received various awards such as excellence in residency and research in internal medicine - Israel, 2014, Shelbi award-2015, outstanding tutor of medical students-2015, and 1st prize for best basic clinical research -2016.
