Aaron Smith was scared silly at the age of five by the "Space Vampire" episode of the Buck Rodgers TV show. His fascination with bloodsucking monsters only grew stronger as he encountered Universal and Hammer horror films, the wonderful Tomb of Dracula comic book series by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan, and a slew of vampire novels.
