Like George, A G Hill was born on an RAF base and moved a lot during his childhood, attending many different schools. He avoided being bullied at one school by telling scary stories and he dreamt of being a writer but ended up working in a butcher's shop! When he became a Christian he was led into the Christian ministry. When leaving school, A.G. vowed never to have anything to do with schools but he ended up as a schools worker with the London City Mission for 19 years! His love of storytelling was rekindled and in addition to telling Bible stories, he created many of his own. He was content to write lesson plans, holiday clubs and stories as part of his work. When a prolonged period of ill health forced him to leave the LCM, he turned a disappointment into an opportunity by writing his first novel, George and the Monster Inside. The book was inspired by his childhood experiences and influenced by the works of CS Lewis, John Bunyan and his Christian faith. A great advantage to telling stories is that A.G. has never grown up despite being in his fifties. He knows he'll never be famous but hopes that those who do read his books will enjoy them. He now lives in Aberdeen, Scotland with his wife and an ever growing collection of classical music, film soundtracks and books. See less
