Mockba 1933 first edition. Hardcover. 12mo. Grey cloth wraps. 164p. Frontispiece woodcut of fat man holding a pillow (? ) with 4 more fullpage woodcut illustrations in text. Entirely in Russian. **Copy signd by Robert Payne (1911-1983), the writer, with a few very light pencil lines in margins of text, presumably by Payne. Yury Olesha, 1899-1960, was a leading Russian novelist. Binding secure although paper on inner hinges is just beginning to crack. Cover cloth is soiled and lightly stained. Front blank end paper is chipped on edges. Text is VG but lightly toned. Overall Fairly Good condition but this first edition of this work is Rare. Pictures available on request.
