...I am not very in tune with politics, and that really made me feel disconnected from the world--sort of a guilt. When I took an anthropology class for the first time, we read this book... and wow, I really felt like by the end of this, I knew Iran as if I'd kept up with the news for years!
It is not that easy of a read...it's information dense, but insanely enlightening. It sheds to light another side to the Middle East...and the strife within the Iranian youth rejecting forced tradition to be modern and with the world.
