A relief op. and a page in history
This is a most interesting book both for those specialising in relief work (Govmt Agencies and NGOs alike) and/or with an interest in the recent history of Cambodia/Kampuchea from the horrors of Pol Pot through the Vietnamese 'occupation' to the exodus of hundreds of thousands of desperate people first along the common boarder in the summer of '79 and then into Thai refugee camps that same October. Through the personal and often poignant accounts of a couple of dozen individuals who were involved in some aspect of relief work, the remarkable story of the near death and rebirth of the Kampuchean nation is told.
