There are strange happenings surrounding Wyota Baptist, and Bobby has been dissuaded from getting involved by the church's all-powerful deacons. As the seventies come to a head, Americans all over the country are finally confronting the ugly legacies of slavery and racism. However, many members of Wyota Baptist believe in fighting these dramatic cultural changes instead of embracing them. Under the guise of concerned citizens, prominent town members persecute and harass the African American population. This prejudice isn't the only sin lurking in the depths of Wyota Baptist, and Bobby will uncover the church's most shocking secrets.
