The difficulty, however, of obtaining certain information just when it was wanted, has prevented the adoption of anything like an alphabetical or other concatenated arrange ment of the subject matter; it is believed that no inconvenience will arise from this cause, as the index is very comprehensive. Care has been exercised in cases where the practical opera tion connected with a receipt has been apart from the writer's experience, to have it verified by authority, and the aim through out has been to render Workshop Receipts' a reliable hand book for all interested in Technological pursuits.
