Overall, this production keeps you listening and is very polished. During long sections, there are sound affects and breaks in the speaking that keep you focused. The background affects are subtle and not disruptive, but do invite you to pay closer attention. I appreciated hearing the New Testament as opposed to reading it, and I "heard" things that I hadn't before. My only complaint is Jesus Christ comes across as a nebbish - not at all commanding as I imagine he would have to have been (it seems to me as if he would have been more confident and charismatic, having been a Rabbi and giving birth to a revolution in Jewish dogma). John does a great job of portraying Jesus' exasperation with his friends and followers. I couple of times I thought he was going to say "Oi Vey!"
