Fascinating and insightful
These women were truly "tough cookies" who were not afraid to either speak their minds or venture into the unknown. It's quite interesting to read the description of the area from their letters and published articles of the times.
I can only imagine how incredibly amazing the old growth trees must have been and how pristine the rivers and creeks were, full of salmon and clean water to benefit everyone.
Highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn not only about the Olympic Peninsula's history, but also about the tough women who made it their home.
