Among hundreds of Australians who went with William Lane to Paraguay in 1893 to establish "New Australia" was a young South Australian, Harry taylor. Taylor was among 60 or so of Lane's followers who moved away from New Australia to establish Cosme commune. After three years he returned to Australia, and in 1905 became owner/editor of the Riverland newspaper, the Renmark (later Murray) Pioneer.
