Evocative picture of life in Taos
If you live New Mexico, and if you are particularly captivated by Taos and the famous and interesting people that have lived and still choose to live there, you should enjoy this book. Mabel Dodge Luhan's descriptions are really evocative of the spirit of the place and make you ready to load the car and head back out to Taos yet again. If you have ever visited or stayed at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House as a guest the book will be even more interesting, as many notes are made describing life in her adobe home, and you can feel the place in the descriptions, especially if you have padded down the wood and stone hallways where D.H Lawrence, Georgia O'Keeffe and many other fascinating characters have trod before you.
