Wing's of the wicked by Courtney Allison Moulton continues on from the first book in wonderful style, but with a darker shadow overall. The struggles that Ellie now has are firmly entrenched and her role as the preliator happens to be drawing attention on all sides. Her battles are never ending and yet her most difficult time is still to come, the power contained within her mortal body is just as dangerous to all enermies as it is to herself. The characters that surround Ellie and Will are contrasts of varying degrees, but ultimately compliment one another working both together and apart in a well rounded and thought out narrative. The relationship between Will and Ellie is often intense but also at times strained. There is a bond of love and trust shared entwined with passion and devotion which is not always clearly stated but hinted or indicated through subtle words or actions. Devastation and dread ripple throughout the story but also determination and courage are to be found in abundance when times are bleak. The colourful and descriptive text in this next installment of the angelfire series is enough to leave the reader on the edge of their seats and breathless.
