Whatever the group's name (they also recorded as the Rocketeers -- two tracks thus attributed are included here), they were top-notch, one of the best R&B vocal groups the West Coast had to offer during the 1950s. This second volume in Ace Records' Cadets/Jacks reissue series is maybe a step down from the first, 1994's Stranded in the Jungle, but just barely, and includes gems like "Why Don't You Write Me," "Since My Baby's Been Gone," and "This Empty Heart" (all of these being assigned to the Jacks, but who's counting?).
