I really loved reading this book. It shows the dark side of human nature which people should know does exist in real life.

Not the usual Alice Hoffman
This is a book that becomes more and more distasteful as one continues reading. With few exceptions, every character was incompetent or evil. If you like ignorance, superstition and incest, this is your cup of tea.
While her writing is excellent, it is tedious to read about this bunch of pathetic, self-indulgent people.
