One-line personal note in blue biro by the upper edge of the front flyleaf, a few notes on the rear flyleaf. There is a little wear at the spine. Fore-edge uncut. Cloth boards, slightly discolored in places, in now-protected, edge-worn dust-jacket. The author was invalided to New Zealand from Guadalcanal in 1942 and during his one-year convalescece he fell in love with the Maoris, who provided the material for this book.
