Biographies of heroes, generals, rulers, and even some traitors are recorded in history. But not much was said about the families left at home in the US or how we faced the war. Our blessed mainland was not bombed, destroyed, or occupied by the enemy. We did not do without anything we really needed. I truly believe that was the last time our country was the real United States. Everyone marched together. We were all in for our sons, brothers, friends, husbands, and the fresh-faced boys who had barely started their lives: The cream of this nation's Crop, the BEST of the best. We all did something. We all gave something. We all did it together. This is about our family (and likely your ancestors as well) and what we did during the war.
