A different perspective
This is a very unusual book on the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. Much of it is a reprint of Phillip Bonosky's book titled Washington's Secret War against Afghanistan published by Progress Publishers in Moscow in 1985. The author writes of his visits to Afghanistan during the Soviet occupation. The author served as a correspondent for the Communist Party USA's newpaper Daily World and sees events and issues from a different perspective than most Western reporters and historians. With his background with the Daily World, he had access to pro-government officials and guides. His interpretations and descriptions offer an American's pro-Soviet perspective on the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan and the protracted war to sustain it.
