Four guitarists, two drummers, a bassist, and a tambourine jam on repetitive riffs and rhythms to amass a wall of white noise that shoots directly to your reptilian brain. Bobby Hecksher's Warlocks continue a musical trajectory that he began while working with Beck in his early days and then with the Rolling Stones-worshipping Brian Jonestown Massacre. "Cocaine Blues" is the standout on the wholly brilliant EP The Warlocks. Its intricately woven guitar lines twist under Bobby Hecksher's druggy, hazy, lazy Lou Reed vocals.
