War Comes to America
War Comes to America is the seventh and final film in the Why We Fight series directed by Frank Capra. Released between 1942 and 1945, these films were shown to American military personnel for instructional purposes; they also served as American propaganda during World War II. This film looks at the events leading up to the American involvement in World War II. Much of the material from previous films in the Why We Fight series is included in this episode. The film also makes use of American public opinion polls and shows how these polls changed over time as the aggression of Germany and Japan became more pronounced. The final segment looks at the attack at Pearl Harbor in December of 1941. Though maybe a bit redundant (especially if you have watched the previous films very recently and close together) this documentary does a good job of portraying how the United States eventually became involved in World War II.
