He began his career in the early 1930s (he was the voice of Felix The Cat in three cartoons in 1936) and lasted until radio's final years of dominence in the 1950s. He was best known for his voive impersonations on "The Great Gildersleeve" and "The Phil Harris-Alice faye Show" as well as for voice overs in cartoons and comercials; later he would be the voice of Sherman in the "Mr. Peabody" cartoons.
