To hear two great singers, Lehmann and Mellchior, in a more intimate setting is a treasure. Melchior was, literally, a giant and Lehmann may have been the greatest VOCAL actress in classical audio history. Listen to their definitive recording of Die Walkure for proof positive. Flagstad? Well, who could ask for anything more. I am not quite old enough to have heard them in the "house" but I have known reliable sources who did.
