Of course, such generosity of programming would be meaningless if these recordings weren't any good, and on the contrary, they're pretty great. Huggett's performances of the Four Seasons and these other Vivaldi concerti have long been among the most favorably reviewed recordings of their kind across the board. They are neither overfed nor ponderous like Karajan's recordings of the work, nor aggressive and edgy like Kennedy's; Huggett and Kraemer's interpretation is generally middle ground,...
