It's impossible to fault Marina Rossel's album. She does what she does perfectly well, exploring the habanera song form, whether on traditional or contemporary material. Nor can your fault any of the players, or the arrangements. Everything is clean and clear, and Rossel herself has a good, if not outstanding voice. So why doesn't this shine quite the way it might?
