This is much more than a mere travel guide. It is literature, written by a writer of historical novels mostly set in Vienna. I bought it several years after visiting Vienna myself, just out of interest, and I was not disappointed. Even though it is rather old now, so may be obsolete in some particulars, it is a book I would want with me if I were to visit Vienna again because of its wealth of timeless information, conveyed in such eloqent language, worthy of this magnificent city.
