The highlight on this album is the world premiere recording of the Metamorphosen Berlin's founder and conductor Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt's arrangement of nine Elgar works for cello and strings. These works were written for piano solo or violin and piano, with Elgar's soon-to-be wife Alice as the dedicatee of several of the violin works.
