There's a 1976 pirate recording from La Scala with Plácido Domingo in the title role and Mirella Freni as Desdemona that far surpasses this one not only in quality of sound but in vocal performance as well.But if you revere Kleiber, you have the La Scala recording, and you can take awful sound, you should definitely check out this recording.
