Perhaps more relevant than ever before, Rob Bell's Velvet Elvis is his original and bestselling classic. In Velvet Elvis, Bell invites readers to wrestle with their faith, and offers a radical new perspective on Jesus, the church, and Christianity today. We know there's something more. We sense it, we feel it, and we want it. But how do we find it - a spirituality that stands up to the questions of an honest, searching mind? 'This book is for those who need a fresh take on Jesus and what it means for us to live the kind of life he teaches us to live,' writes Rob Bell. This new edition of Velvet Elvis, along with the relaunch of Rob Bell's three other classic works, offers what Rob does best: original and refreshingly personal perspectives on what Christianity is really about. 'We have to test everything,' writes Bell. 'Do that to this book. Don't swallow it uncritically. Think about it. Wrestle with it. Just because I'm a Christian and I'm trying to articulate a Christian worldview doesn't mean I've got it nailed. I'm contributing to the discussion. God has spoken, and the rest is commentary, right?'

Having a copy of Rob Bell's Sex God, I naturally wanted to red more of his most sensitive insight into man's attempts at discerning our Creator; I applaud him as one of our most current and forward men in Christianity.

Not So Great
Pastor Rob Bell sets out to give a new picture of Christianity for those who are burnt out on the faith. He is progressive in his thinking while maintaining orthodoxy. This book encourages us that God wants to work in our lives to make us the sort of people that will love like Jesus did.
Since I am not disenfranchised, this book did not resonate with me. However if you have been burnt by church or find yourself in a spiritual rut, this book may help you think about God and your faith in a different light.

Get out your paintbrush!
One of the most insightfull and joyful books I've ever read. I've believed in God all my life. Rob Bell has a wisdom far beyond his years. Our God is limitless, He is larger and more beautiful than any of us can describe or imagine. This is a book I will re-read again and again. I am also giving it as a gift to my family members and friends. I thank God for this book!

Simple TRUTH
Rob Bell writes like your best friend sitting across from you in the coffee shop, reminding you why you fell in love with Jesus in the first place. Stripping away all the church institutionalism that we can't seem to escape, he brings us back to the simple truth of what God is really all about. Simple, yet profoundly revelatory. An "Ah-hah!" book.

For those who think
This isn't a book for those who don't like to explore possibilities. This is a book for people who are in need of change with their walk toward a better life in their Savior. It can help you to understand others and yourself better. And that will make the world a better place.
