Vampire Music, Vol. 1 is an interesting record somewhat botched by a gimmicky presentation. The title and creepily comic book-like cover art seemingly aren't enough to connect Transylvanian Gypsies to their home, because too many songs on this disc are linked by cheesy horror-film atmospherics in between, complete with the clichéd beating heart and wind effects.
