Caroline Crocker is a skilled storyteller. The book is even more compelling because it is the true story of her own father, a child in the Netherlands during WWII. To me, the underlying thought provoking question of the book is "what is unforgivable"? I also appreciated seeing the impact of war and WWII on a child in Europe and his immigration story. I highly recommend this book!
