Thankfully, 25 years later, we finally have the appropriately named Ultimate Collection, which includes Humperdinck's 17 most successful U.S. pop singles chart entries, including not only favorites like "Release Me (And Let Me Love Again)," "Winter World of Love," "Am I That Easy to Forget," and "A Man Without Love," but also two major hits of the late '70s that came while he was contracted to Epic Records, "After the Lovin'" and "This Moment in Time." Humperdinck may not have gotten into the charts since the end of the '70s, but these songs have allowed him to please audience for another two decades, and they hold up well, both because of their consistency as engaging, European-flavored love songs and because the singer's smooth voice puts them across convincingly. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
